“닷새 후에 대제사장 아나니아가 어떤 장로들과 한 변사 더둘로와 함께 내려와서 총독 앞에서 바울을 고소하니라” (행 24: 1).
공회에 끌려가 곤욕을 치른 사도 바울은 다시 대 제사장에게 고소를 당했습니다. 재판 받는 일은 괴롭고 힘든 일입니다. 그러나 주께서 격려해 주셨습니다: “담대하라 네가 예루살렘에서 나의 일을 증거한 것같이 로마에서도 증거하여야 하리라” (23: 11). 유대인들의 살해 음모 속에서 바울은 로마 군인들의 호위를 받으며 무사히 가이사랴에 도착합니다. 이 일에 바울의 생질, 백부장, 천부장이 주님의 도구로 쓰임을 받습니다.
“주님 감사합니다. 유대인들의 살해 음모 속에서 당신의 종 사도 바울을 보호해 주셨습니다. 복음 전도에 어려움을 겪지만, 주께서 살피시고 계심을 믿습니다. 오늘도 복음 전도에 힘쓰는 당신의 모든 일꾼들을 살피시옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.”
“Five days later the high priest Ananias went down to Caesarea with some of the elders and a lawyer named Tertullus, and they brought their charges against Paul before the governor.” (Acts 24:1)
After being dragged before the council and suffering mistreatment, the apostle Paul once again faced accusations—this time brought by the high priest himself. Standing trial is always distressing and burdensome. Yet the Lord encouraged him, saying, “Take courage! As you have testified about Me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.” (23:11) Amid the Jewish plot to kill him, Paul was safely escorted by Roman soldiers and arrived unharmed in Caesarea.
“Lord, thank You for protecting Your servant, the apostle Paul, from the murderous schemes of the Jews. Though we face difficulties in proclaiming the gospel, we trust that You watch over us. Please look after all Your workers who labor for the gospel today. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.”
